Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer
Thérèse (“Teri”) has been part of the tax and accounting team at First Long Island Investors since 2012. She is primarily responsible for income tax planning and compliance for our clients and partnerships. She oversees all tax reporting and financial statement preparation for our partnerships in conjunction with our auditors and fund administrators. She works with clients and their outside advisors (typically accountants and attorneys), providing guidance on their tax situation across individual filings, trusts, foundations, gifting, as appropriate. Teri is the point person for asset valuation reporting as it relates to estate planning, estate tax filings, insurance, etc. She is part of the cross-functional efforts to prepare quarterly reporting for all clients as well as net worth schedules for family office clients. Teri oversees a team of bookkeepers who support our family office clients, their trusts, and family limited partnerships along with FLI partnerships.
Teri worked in public accounting prior to joining FLI and was involved with tax and accounting matters for individuals and businesses in various industries, including hospitality, manufacturing and retail sales. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Accounting from Queens College and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is also a member of the AICPA and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Teri is on the Board of Trustees of Variety Child Learning Center. She also serves on its Audit Committee and Development Committee. Teri grew up in Dyker Heights, raised her son in the Rockaways and now resides in Smithtown.
