Christopher Butler

Chris joined First Long Island Investors in 2015 as an IT Professional. His connection with FLI began during his previous 10 years as an IT consultant when he handled the sizing, specification, testing, and deployment of a completely new network and server infrastructure for us in 2012. He is currently tasked with the end-to-end maintenance, development, deployment, and support of the information technology and telecommunications infrastructure at FLI. Chris also serves as the primary liaison with all technology-related third parties and provides all technical support to both the FLI internal team as well as our clients and is part of the team that generates and distributes client-level reporting.

He studied computer science at Adelphi University and has been working in the Information Technology field since the early 90s. Though he began his professional life in the finance space as a specialist clerk on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, his lifelong passion for IT took his career over to the infrastructure that drives it: First with Bridge Information Systems developing broker-to-broker online transaction processing communication interfaces, and then with the NYSE itself at SIAC, writing code through which all floor trades were processed. As a consultant, Chris designed and deployed systems for various small to medium-sized businesses, from high-level architecture to the day-to-day operations of customer in-house IT.

Chris’s lifelong love of music, both as a recording engineer and musician, included a stint as lead singer and rhythm guitarist in an original music band that played venues from Southold to Manhattan, to the stage with local legends at Tipitina’s in New Orleans during Jazz Fest. Chris lives in Huntington with his wife Christine and their two children, Aidan and Abigail.
